Are you in Malaga and looking for some novel ideas to make your Christmas meal different? Christmas is a special time of year when events are organised with both friends and co-workers. The 'typical Christmas dinner' is a bit boring for many. That’s why in this article we’re going to suggest some new ideas so that your celebration is far from boring and to make it a day to remember.
Secret Santa
How does Secret Santa work? Well Secret Santa is a fun filled, yet simple way to make the day of your event exciting and entertaining. Days before you meet, the group of people who are invited to the lunch or dinner find out which person they must buy a small gift for. The amount can vary but it's usually something between five and eight Euros. The day of the event each person brings their gift wrapped up and unnamed so it’s a surprise until the time comes for everyone to give their gift to their assigned person.
Choose a Theme
While it’s not Carnival or the Malaga Fair time of year, choosing a theme for your event can make it even more fun and interesting. For example, a flamenco theme. You don't have to go dressed as if you were going to the fair, but you can wear a flamenco accessory that is consistent with your chosen look. During the event everyone can vote for the best flamenco outfit and agree on a prize. The prize would be something that would benefit the winner for that specific day (such as a drink, an extra dessert, or if they’re more daring, propose a challenge for the rest of the guests).
No Mobile Phones Allowed
These days mobile phones have taken over our lives and on the day of the celebration we need to prioritise. A great idea is for all the guests to leave their mobile phones stacked to one side as soon as they arrive at the restaurant, and out of the way to avoid the temptation to look at them. If someone can’t resist the temptation to look at their phone during dinner, they will be punished with what everyone agrees. For example: The loser buys a round of shots! This is also a way to avoid unwanted embarrassing photos of the event.
Organise an Awards Event
This is about doing something different and really thinking outside the box. Here’s a fun idea to stop people getting bored in between courses: give a prize to each of the company dinner guests. The 'best employee' is outdated; the idea is to give awards based on the personality of each guest. For example, an award for the most ¨talkative¨, the ¨funniest¨, and so on. You can agree on the prizes and vote in situ. At the end, announce the winners and try to make sure that everyone gets a prize!
Lastly, The After Party!
At the end of the celebration no one is allowed to go home! The perfect idea is to continue the party at The Beach Club Higuerón. The Club area is available for celebrating the best private parties. You can have fun singing karaoke, taking photos at the photocall or dancing the night away. If you’d like this room, you need to book as soon as possible as Christmas is just around the corner! And for those who are still not sure where to celebrate their company lunch, The Japo menus are also available at The Beach Club Higuerón. What are you waiting for?
