The Antonio Mercero Beach Walkway
This beach walk gets its name from Antonio Mercero, the director of the legendary series “Verano Azul”. In 2001 the walk was Inaugurated to him, 20 years after the broadcasting of the series that reigned on Spanish screens during the 80s. The seafront walkway covers the entire width of Burriana beach, and is considered to have one of the best views in the whole province. While you walk along it you can admire the entire Alboran Sea, the African continent in the distance, and the touristy Balcón de Europa.
The Antonio Banderas Beach Walkway
This beach walk, dedicated to the Malaga-born Antonio Banderas, runs along the entire length of Misericordia beach. Its 5 kilometers offers a large number of attractions, such as beach bars, restaurants, shops and even several areas for outdoor sports in the so-called "beach gyms", which are spread along the Costa del Sol. In addition, along this walk you can find different monoliths in honor of Spanish actors and actresses such as José Coronado, Rosa María Sardá or Javier Gutiérrez, a peculiar way of awarding prizes to great representatives of Spanish cinema.
The Benalmádena Beach Walkway
Benalmádena 's beach walk runs along the entire coastline of the municipality, from the Bil Bil Castle to Puerto Marina. Similar to the others, Benalmádena's offers plenty of activities and services for everyone, giving you everything needed for a pleasant day on the coast. Along your walk you will find ceramic and natural stone mosaics, and the monument to Ibn al-Baitar, an Andalusian doctor and botanist born in the municipality of Benalmádena.
The Fuengirola Seafront Walk
Beginning at the important Sohail Castle, the Fuengirola beach walk is the longest in the province of Malaga. Many events are held here throughout the year, including the medieval market and the Great Oktoberfest Beer Festival. It is ideal for a stroll with your family, sunset contemplation or to share a terrace drink with friends. The Marbella Beach Walk
Marbella is known for being one of the most exclusive towns on the Costa del Sol, and its beach walk is not far behind. The 7 kilometers of seafront walk that connect Marbella to Puerto Banús is very well-kept and full of fancy bars, hotels and countless shops where you can buy everything you need and more to enjoy your beach days. The walk is located just a few minutes from the center of Marbella, so you can take advantage of your visit and get to know the historic center and emblematic places such as the Avenida del Mar.
The Senda Litoral Costa del Sol Project
Finally, we would like to introduce you to this Malaga initiative. The Senda Litoral de la Costa del Sol project was born with the aim of connecting the 14 municipalities of the area in a sustainable way that promotes tourism and physical activity. As a result, today you can walk, bike, run, skate and more along a large part of the coastline from Nerja to Manilva. Although there are still some stretches that need to be adapted, the project has been a great success for the province. If you love to enjoy nature, on the Costa del Sol you will find hundreds of paths, lanes and beach walks through which to discover this fantastic land!
